Being an Overcast... (The Fall Out Boy Experience)

Feb 15, 2009 23:59

Mga ilang araw na din lumipas... sa wakas, makakagawa na ako ng matinong post. :D

It has been days since I failed to post what happened during the week.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday didn't make me feel good at all. I've got a lot of problems and I somehow failed... Bah, humbug.

Later Thursday and Friday boosted me...! Guess why? Or so everyone knows; I've met Patrick Stump, Joe Trohman, Andy Hurley and Pete Wentz. For short, Fall Out Boy!

It was last Thursday afternoon at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia when I washed my brain from the peril I've gone through. I arrived at about a half hour before they came. But wait, it was not for free; anyone who is willing to see Fall Out Boy close-up should buy either of the following CDs: Infinity on High (Third/Fourth Album), Folie A Deux (Lastest Album), or Fall Boy: Live in Phoenix (CD/DVD). I checked my wallet and oh, hell! I only have five hundred pesos left in my wallet  (that is supposed to be the money I should pay for the Lakbay Aral [CLAHS Field Trip]) and I had second thoughts whether I should buy for the sake of seeing my idols face-to-face. And so, I burned bridges; I spared my money just to buy  the album Folie A Deux, and sat at the front row between my brother and one of my cousins (they were at the mall at about 1 p.m.).

Minutes after sitting down, they arrived! Everyone in the mall stood and cheered (of course, we also cheered) when Fall Out Boy showed up before their fans. Unfortunately, the host of the tour (whoever he is, he's just an indiyo) announced that taking pictures of them onstage is not allowed (darnit!) but we were given the chance to take pictures of them before the actual autograph signing.

Since we were at the first row, we were the ones who first acquainted Fall Out Boy. We're nervous at the moment we fell in line up to the time we were inches near them. But as to overcome our nervousness, we just imagined that Fall Out Boy were our friends. And there...

Three...

Two...

One...

Face-to-Face with Patrick, Pete, Joe and Andy... and it was AWESOME!! At the time we were standing before them, we're speechless and what only came out from our wonderful lips were:

"Hey, (member of Fall Out Boy)!"

My brother and I had a short talk with Joe and Pete (in addition, I talked with Patrick!), my cousins babbled with all of the boys and my aunt... OH MY GOD. She almost kissed Joe's cheeks when she shook hands with the Jewish guitarist. Joe didn't know that he was about to be kissed by a hag so I pushed her aside and said, "Next na!!", and talked with Joe. It's also her fault for the fact that I failed to talk to Andy. After that, I approached Pete and congratulated him for having Bronx Mowgli and he thanked me for that.

It looks like I forgot to mention one guy; Patrick. I requested him to sign with dedication but the maintenance member butted in and forced me to move on to Andy. Patrick, on the other hand, apologized. That's okay, though.

We ended our Thursday night with the boys as we talked about our thoughts when we were up-close to them. It was like we're insane bears but compared to our aunt, she was hellofa wicked woman; she kept on screaming "JOE!!". Man, among the four hotshots, why did she chose Joe over Pete? Ahahaha...

Friday,

I was very anticipated when I was still at school. I could hardly wait for dismissal so I could go home and refresh myself for the concert. The bad news, though, is that we have an assignment for the SB Centrex. I was out of time and I just did that assignment after the concert.

Alright; it's showtime!

I rushed my way back home to take a bath and dress up. It was about 4:40 in the afternoon when I left our house. I rode the jeepney that will bring me to Cubao and since I can barely wait, I almost stomped at the jeepney! Good thing no one noticed me...!

As I arrived at the Gateway, I walked briskly on my way to the coliseum. When I got at the General Admission gate, the bouncers asked me for my ticket and I showed them my ticket. THey let me in and I made my way inside the coliseum. By coincidence, one of my cousins was on his way to the confort room when I met him. I asked him where the hell are the others and he pointed out the Converse banner at the left and when I traced his finger, oh hell; my aunt's head was visible on my sight. I ran there and tried to hit her head but her classmate saw me coming. She called my aunt and pinpointed me. I suddenly walked slowly as to show them that I've arrived with confidence. I sat between my aunt and my brother and waited for the show...

8:15 p.m., the show started. Eveyrone inside the coliseum cheered (and we cheered louder, of course)... but wait, it's not Fall Out Boy's turn to perform! It was Hey Monday, consisting of Cassadee Pope, Mike Gentile, Alex Lipshaw, Michael "Jersey" Moriarty, Elliot James and Bobby Nolan, who popped out of the scene and cheered by the thousand audience. As far as I could recall, they did 'Candles', 'Arizona', 'How Do You Love Me Now', 'Obvious', 'Run, Don't Walk' and four(?) more songs which I can't recall. After the performance, I screamed,

"CASSADEE POPE, YOU ROCK MY WORLD!!!"

Then my aunt said, "Paano na si Jane?"

And I responded, "SHADDAP, BITCH!"

But really, Cassadee Is Cute. :D

Some of the audiences took a comfort room break. Meanwhile, we were just sitting down on our place, talking about Hey Monday. No, I won't share our thoughts here anymore. Well, those were mostly positive outlooks. :D

After minutes, an extremely large poster made out of cloth was raised; it was the logo of Fall Out Boy. Everyone cheered louder than before (and we did ours at the top of our lungs). The lights suddenly went out and the boys went onstage. They started their performance with "Thnks Fr th Mmrs", followed by their other songs (not in order) like "Sugar We're Going Down" (ft. Cassadee!!), "America's Suitehearts", "Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown On A Bad Bet" (wherein Pete rampaged and cried worse than how I do), "Thriller",  "The Take Over, The Break's Over", and "Grand Theft Autumn".

An hour after their show, the lights went in and they went out. We thought that the show is over and so, I jumped my way to the VIP area. My company followed me and in our surprise, THE SHOW'S GONNA END. The boys went back onstage and performed their last song, "Saturday" (one of my favorite FOB songs). We're so lucky that we got in the VIP area at their last song. As they ended the show, Andy threw his drumsticks and my wicked aunt caught the half of its pair. She was screaming like she's going to die if someone takes Andy's drumstick from her.
Until now, I can't get over the show... Man, I am now addicted!
Now I'm an Overcast Kid... Haha.

cassadee, fall out boy
