From the "My Bad" department

Wow, I didn't realize it'd been so long since rabi tagged me with those memes. I'm not surprised that you'd given up on ever seeing them done. -_-;;

In fact, it's been so long, I forgot which memes it was I was going to do. Well, I got the "put the player on random" one, but I have no idea what the "5 things" meme was or what other music meme I was going to do.

Now, before I go on, I should explain that, since I don't have an iPod, I used Winamp. And the only mp3's I had lying around were ... all Eurobeat. Yes, they were ALL Eurobeat. Obviously I haven't gotten around to ripping my entire CD collection. ^_^

Also, my first couple attempts at this were, um, not post-worthy. And I don't mean that in a "hilarious and embarrassing" way like that one meme - no, I'm not going to say which one it was. You long-time readers should already know which one I'm talking about. So, while this result may not be all that funny, just keep in mind that it could've been worse. :P

Anyways, without further ado, the random music meme:

So, as you can see, not that laugh-worthy. And now, for part 2 of this meme catch-up post:

Quirky Habits Meme
Tagged by receiver
***Ground Rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 weird habits of yours" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their 5 quirky habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their names.***

1. I listen to Eurobeat almost exclusively. Heh. This sorta ties in nicely w/ the previous meme, doesn't it?

Anyways, it all started with Initial D. I mean, before then, I used to listen to 80s stuff, anime soundtracks, "Weird Al" Yankovic, video game soundtracks. But these days, it's been pretty much all Eurobeat (with the occasional Shania Twain for a bit of variety). Though, once I root through all my boxes back in Michigan, I hope to find the CD case that contains my favorite CDs (remember Pulse, syksushi?) so that I can get back to my more varied, if somewhat eclectic mix.

2. I wear short-sleeved shirts even in the dead of winter. Generally, all it takes for me to stay warm are jeans, a cotton t-shirt, a ski jacket, and gloves. And if it's REALLY cold, I'll throw on a baseball cap. That's it. Even when the wind chill hits -20. Now, I'm not saying I like to spend a lot of time outside when it's like this, but I don't mind it as much as some of you warm-weather wussies out there.

Of course, all this is nothing compared to the guy I knew back in Chicago who used to wear shorts. Granted he was on the short and stocky side but, man, it was really friggin' cold out there for some of those Subaru Impreza meets. ^_^

On the flip side of this, there's nothing I hate more than when it's hot and muggy. Summer is my least favorite season of the entire year.

3. If the TV is on, it's almost always tuned to Food Network.

Now that I've discovered Mythbusters, I'll probably head on over to the Discovery Channel once in a while, and I'll watch just about anything football-related on any of the ESPNs. But, for the most part, my TV diet consists of Food Network.

Now, I can't watch as much Emeril as I used to. (I think I OD'd.) And I can't stand to watch Sara Lee's Semi-homemade. (Reminds me too much of Martha Stewart.) But I can stomach multiple episodes of Rachael Ray, and I LOVE Good Eats and the original Iron Chef. Iron Chef America? Not so much.

4. Whenever I stop by a bookstore, I read car magazines.

I guess this really shouldn't really be surprising for someone who grew up in the "Motor City."

Used to read Motor Trend. Later moved on to Car and Driver. Now I've added Automobile magazine, Car, Evo, and Top Gear to my required reading list. (Those last three being imports from England.)

That said, I don't read nearly as much as I should. I used to have encyclopedic knowledge about the various car lines sold in the U.S. but, as time passed, I fell further and further behind to the point where I can make generalizations ("Toyota makes the best cars."), but the specifics now escape me.

5. I collect things.

Yes, I'm a pack-rat. I have more old computers (we're talking pre-Windows 2000) than I probably should. I've got figurines of various kinds. (Some were gifts. Most were not.) My latest hobby (before I got laid-off) was buying 1:18 scale die-cast cars.

Nowadays, though, I'm all about the DVDs. Best Motoring International. Good Eats. The occasional movie.

So that's it. Man, it was hard coming up with five. To tell the truth, I don't know if some of these qualify as "quirky habits." Oh well. ^_^
