First, for all of you who haven't seen it yet, a link.

Second,

1. How many times can a senator be re-elected?
c. No limit

The President is the only one limited in number of terms (two). Though, personally, I think we should have limits for Senators, too, but I doubt that will ever happen.

2. In what month is the new President inaugurated?
c. January

On the 20th, to be specific.

3. Which president was the first Commander In Chief of the U.S. military?
a. George Washington

This was one of the two I got wrong. I thought they didn't define the Commander In Chief until later.

4. What is the introduction to the Constitution called?
c. The Preamble

The Bill of Rights are the first ten amendments to the Constitution (IIRC - I'm not positive on the number). The Declaration of Independence was a separate document (and earlier, too) that said we didn't want to be part of England any more.

5. In what year was the Constitution written?
c. 1787

It was put together by the Continental Congress.

6. Who has the power to declare war?
a. Congress

As glue was joking, the President has limited powers as the Commander In Chief to send troops into battle. (I think the War Powers Act is related to this?) But the U.S. isn't "officially" at war with someone until Congress says it is.

7. Who was the main writer of the Declaration of Independence?
c. Thomas Jefferson

8. Which countries were America's enemies during World War II?
c. Germany, Italy, and Japan

9. Which of the following was not one of the original thirteen states?
c. Vermont

The other question I got wrong. I thought it was New Hampshire. :p

10. What country did the US fight during the revolutionary war?
d. England

Also, like I said in mariarider's journal, I only got 8/10. :p

quiz, meme
