we went to joanna's parents' house saturday morning to get the computer parts i ordered. i was under the idea that building a computer took a really long time. most of the time was taken by me staring at all the bits and gaining the courage to start. the actual building of the computer took a little over two hours.
my old computer was joanna's old computer which uses an amd 2800 chip and normally runs very warm. what are the parts you used eugene? well since you asked:
Gigabyte GA M57SLI-S4 SKT AM2 Nvidia MCP55P PCI-E 8Channel audio ATX
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Socket AM2 Retail Boxed Processor
Kingston 1gb DDR2 800mhz/PC2-6400 Non-ecc CL5
Seagate ST3250410AS 250GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 16MB Cache - OEM
Innovision GeForce 7600GS 512MB DDR2 PCI-E Graphics Card
Trust 520w Pro PSU Pw-5550 - Low Noise Big Fan Ns
Jeantech Phong V2 Silver ATX Tower Case - No PSU - Front Panel Temp Monitor
i've mostly moved out of the old computer. as soon as i'm done begins its quixotic quest to recover my failed hard drive.
