So this dude who comes into the pharmacy all the time offered me a job today. He's been harassing me about showing him my work for a while now, he's kinda creepy so I've been avoiding it, but I finally gave in and gave the guy my url to my deviantArt. That day he called me up while I was working and said he had a job that I would possibly be interested in. Anyways so he came in today and explained the job, and it's basically doing illustrations of different animals which are then turned into collectible coins and then the illustration is on the packaging. To me, it sounds kind of silly, but I know Jack used to do a lot of work for collectible stuff.  The guy also owns Bethel Cinema which is weird. Anyways, the job would basically be freelance and I would get paid $500 for a 8.5"X11" illustration of a given animal. He said the current guy they have does 4 a month. This job sounds fucking excellent, but I'm just so skeptical. First, I'd have to quit my steady job in order to do this kind of work and keep up with school and my internship, which is just realistically sooooo risky. The guy also wants me to do a commissioned larger scale painting for his new house in Chicago. He liked my monoprints, so if I could do a big ass monoprint or multiple panels, I could feesibly make like $800 for like minimal work (compared to other pieces I do)

I've been thinking a lot about freelancing recently. It would be so much more enjoyable for me, great practice, good money and work a hell of a lot better with my schedule, but I'm not sure how much work is out there for me. It seems like I know a lot of people who would pay for my work, but how many could keep me going stably instead of my current job? It's RISKY.

I don't know if I'm good at taking risks, and my job right now is stable and pretty easy too. I'm going to try to start taking less hours at work and see how this freelancing animal thing goes. I hope it's legit. Cross your fingers.
