“Aiba-chan!” Aiba startled at the mention of his name, “You’re dreaming are you? Your soup is boiling!” Aiba ran to the kitchen putting off the fire. He gave a sighed of relief as he walked out to the living room. As usual, Sho was having his evening tea while reading his newspaper. He couldn’t help but realised Aiba had so much in thought…Just as Aiba thought he had so much in his head.

“What are you thinking about Sho-chan? You’ve been quite…serious these few days. Did you have any problems at work?”

Sho didn’t look at Aiba but gave a nonchalant answer, “Nope. Everything’s fine.” Then he closed his paper, “Ne, Aiba-chan….”

“Hurm?”

“When was our first meeting again? I mean when did we start to talk to each other?”

“Do you really want to remember that dark days?” Aiba sounded serious. He didn’t like the talk about that day Sho decided to jump off the school building. It took some years for Sho to smile after that incident.

“Jut reminiscing our old days…Where was it again that I decided to jump?” Sho gave a laugh…but Aiba could sense sadness in those eyes.

“Ano ne…Let’s stop…” Aiba walked to his room.

“What are you so scared about of my past?” Sho gave a smirk. Those word struck Aiba that he stopped.

“What are you talking about?” he turned, “I’m only protecting you Sho-chan~”

“Protecting me?” Sho laughed again, “From what?”

“Sho-chan…yamete ne…Just leave those darkness and walk into the bright future you’re currently heading to.” He sighed, “Let’s just forget all those painful memory and have fun! Let’s just forget the past…”

A sudden strong blow hit on Aiba’s innocent face giving him a surprise. He fell backward towards the bookrack. A few book felt on Aiba’s head.

“Nandayou!”

“My family was brutally killed and you asked me to forget it?!”

“Then what are you going to do??? Revenge? Find everyone and….”Aiba, getting back to his sense heave a dissapointed sigh, “You know what? Forget it! I’m sorry for what I said…gomen ne, Sho-chan. In the meantime, I’ll move out until you calm yourself down. If you need anything, just roger me.” He said as he walked away with tears prickling. As he closed his door, he squated cupping his face. He silently cried.

Truth…Is not the only thing he protected him from…

As the door of the ward being slide open, Aiba saw a different image of the used to be strong president of the students’ council. He had his head and arms bandage. Nothing was serious but he just won’t wake up.
His face was as as ever. Aiba always thought Sho had such a white complexion that sometimes he saw him as a vampire. But at that moment, Sho was very pale. Aiba’s only thought was that, how is this young man going to face the reality that he was the only survivor in the incident. How is this innocent young lad is going to be able to face the harsh reality of having his whole family murdered….The smile he saw when Sho was in the car…he is sure, Sho could never smile like that again. His tears felt on Sho’s cheek. He held the blanket tightly and cried. Realizing someone was at the door, he rushed to the toilet inside Sho’s room to wipe his tears.
“It is the right room….the sole survivor of the yesterday’s assassination…” Aiba heard a voice from outside.
“I’m sorry I missed him yesterday. I thought he had died…How should we handle this aniki? Shall I shoot him?” Aiba eyes widen.
“Baka janaiyo!!!! Just turn off his support system. Why go through such a hassle…Remind me again why I take you under me!”
Just as the men try to turn off his support system, Aiba came out of the toilet,”No!!!!!!!!!” His action jolted the two men. One of them took out a gun and turn it to Aiba. Aiba ran toward Sho’s body and hug it.
“Please don’t kill him!”
“Look who we have here…” The boss smirked, “You are the witness right?”
“Shall we kill him too, aniki?”
The boss put out his hand to stop his subordinate, “We might have some use on this brat…”
“What do you mean?”
“Don’t testify that it was our doing or we will kill this boy…and that includes you.” Aiba’s arm loosen from embracing Sho. His head wet from sweat of horror. It’s like hollywood thriller movie…Just this time, it’s real thing.
“Ano sa, aniki, why don’t we just kill him?”
“There are some evidence pointing to us…to save ourselves from this hassle,we free ourselves from being the suspects, “ He turned back towards Aiba, “If you try to do something funny, then you’ll bet this guy’s head…” while pulling Sho’s hair, “will be like a squashed cockroach.”

When Aiba came out of his room, only he kitchen light was turned on and he could see Sho was drinking some vodka at the counter. He wanted to say, I’m going…but something struck his throat. He looked down as he walked out of the apartment.

Meanwhile in the kitchen, as the door shut, Sho hand gripped tightly on the glass as he tried to control his tears. He moved on to the living room and as he sat there, for the first time after a very long time, he felt a sense of loneliness. Ten minutes passed and that 10 minute felt like 10 years of loneliness. Everywhere he looked, he saw remnants of Aiba. At the kitchen where Aiba making noise while cooking, at the living room where they would talk and Aiba would make imitation, at the hallway where Aiba call for him for meal…Aiba doing laundry. Aiba doing silly dance…He’s stuck with Aiba for years and now he can’t brush him away….
