Был такой ученый позднесталинского времени, одновременно с Лепешинской. Главной идеей Лепешинской было постоянное самозарождение микроорганизмов. А у Бошьяна - переход бактерий друг в друга посредством вирусов: http://pics.livejournal.com/skovorodinen/pic/0004fgag/s640x480.

I am well aware of this "scientist". What I do not really get is the connection to the current ideas on virus evolution.
Do you mean the "4th domain" concept, origin of viruses from cells and all that or something more general?
