“Jaejoong...I think it’s best if we don’t see each other again.”
That hurt.
That had seriously hurt and I wasn’t able to do anything but cry for the hour that followed. However, when Junsu asked me whether or not to inform the police, I said no.
Why?
Because that stupid part of me still ached for Yunho; ached to believe him; knew what a messed-up and insecure life he’s had; pitied him; wanted a resolution and desperately wished for everything to turn out ‘happily ever after’.
The idiot Kim Jaejoong will forever love the idiot Jung Yunho - credit goes to the awesome sex.
But the idiot Kim Jaejoong was royally pissed at the kidnapping of his son, so he’s going to do something (stupid) about it....
..............................................
There was something a little wrong about our situation at this moment in time.......okay, maybe something a lot wrong.
For one thing, I’d never been one to wear black for the sake of camouflaging with the night. And for another, I was beginning to doubt the simplicity of the things Junsu had in his large satchel that had magically appeared out of the boot of his car.
I had also never been in a situation where I was planning to climb a ten metre high spiked fence with a writer, who happens to hate extreme sports, and a doctor, who was only useful in event of the failure of this ‘master plan’. Oh, and did I mention that the giant, wrought iron gate was adorned with huge signs reading “TRESPASSERS WILL BE PROSECUTED” and “DANGER - BEWARE OF DOGS”.
“Okay, operation ‘infiltrate the highly surveillance (a.k.a. dangerous) Jung Mansion #1’ is a go,” Junsu whispered and suddenly stood up from the bushes we were hiding out in.
I almost had a heart attack before Yoochun dragged him back down into a crouch.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing!” I hissed, ready to forget our historical friendship and strangle him.
“Uh...helping you get your son back from that son of a bitch, loony, bastard Jung Yunho before you fall into another bout of depression,” Junsu frowned back, “What did you pull me back down for?”
“Why did you bring him?” I turned to Yoochun, deciding that Junsu was beyond rescuing.
“Sorry, he’s the only one with car,” Yoochun frowned at Junsu also, but I didn’t miss the fond twinkle of amusement in his eyes, “Exactly what did you intend to achieve by standing up?”
With a roll of his eyes, Junsu reached into his satchel and produced a purple, bone-shaped doggy chew toy with a look of absolute seriousness on his face.
“The plan is to distract the guard dogs with these squishy chew toys, which are actually smoke bombs with highly powered magnetic solenoids that will not only kill or injure dogs and human guards with any metal implants but they will also severely damage the circuits of any surveillance cameras, security lasers and hidden explosives that may be lying around. I did tell you guys to leave all your metal belongings behind right?”
There are only a handful of times that Junsu had succeeded in amazing me, however, this was not one of those times. I was just confused. Where did Junsu learn that from? And where the hell did he get that stuff from? Was this like a climax in an action movie where the main character suddenly discovers that there was another side of his comrade in war? Where were the cameras?
Before any rational chain of thought could be processed by Yoochun and I, Junsu was up again and moving at a pace that defied his real personality. I watched, with my mouth opened, as Junsu scaled the impossibly tall gate with something close to grace, while throwing out chew toys whenever one of his hands happened to be free. Should I be creeped out?
“What do we do?” I wailed as the first of the guard dogs came running.
“Follow him! Climb! Climb! Climb!” Yoochun was already hot on Junsu’s trail and of all the things he could’ve been doing, he was laughing! Introducing him to Junsu was a very bad move on my part.
Left with no other option, I summoned my strength and climb the fence to Yunho’s house, remembering halfway that I had to start praying for my life.
The layer of funny smelling, white smog seemed to be preventing the dogs from barking and the solenoids were doing their thing. Not a single alarm had gone off, but we didn’t have much time before the guards decide to come check on the missing dogs.
Via a contact in the military, Yoochun had illegally obtained a map of the Jung estate and we’d chosen our route of entry very carefully - through the large storage room, across the bustling kitchen (after stealing chef uniforms) and into the main household. All actions from then on would be adlibs. Not the best plan, but by the time we got into the crisp, white uniforms, we were all feeling pretty high on nothing.
“If I was a most adorable, genius two-year-old that had the unfortunate fate of being born to the craziest parents in the world, where would I be hidden in this expensive maze?” Junsu commented when we found ourselves lost amongst the labyrinth of ornate corridors in the mansion.
“Ha ha,” I muttered, trying to keep my distance from the rows of vicious armoury lining the walls.
“I say we find ourselves a hot maid and force the directions out of her,” Yoochun was setting himself up for an assault from Junsu, which he happily accepted.
We were just about to bicker again when I felt the hairs on the back of my neck prick unpleasantly. Turning, I almost had a stroke when I spotted a girl half-hidden behind the corner of the corridor. Her eyes grew as wide as mine when we realised that we had caught each others’ attention.
“There’s a maid, attack!”
To my surprise, Yoochun and Junsu actually leapt from beside me to hold the unassuming girl hostage. Where did all this action come from?
“What are you doing?” I exclaimed, rushing over to fret, “We’re not here to make a scene!”
“J-Jaejoong?”
Surprised, I studied the face of the girl again...there was something...familiar?
“Tiffany?”
