"The alumni will be here this weekend - if they tell you to lift your legs, just do it. They give us money and are all really nice, deep down, past the cranky alumni shell.... so be nice to them, and have a good time. You know, I didn't tell any of the current 97 members to "lift their legs" or anything along those lines. I did, however, just try to talk to them like they were normal human beings in order to get to know the younger generation (did I just type that?) but no one seemed to want to talk to me. Maybe they didn't believe I was "one of them" because I wasn't wearing my Alumni Band t-shirt.

Whatever. Maybe I'll turn into the cranky kind of alum at L/L. ;)

Hey, you should've ventured over to the mellophone section! We're friendly folks! I know I would've made conversation as well . . . Heck, I even went into the heart of the Alumni Band to talk to Traum and a few others about the music and/or hear about the state of the band "when I was a frosh".

I didn't have time to personally approach every member of the band to chat it up since I had to leave after halftime, but I'll keep a visit to the mellophone section in mind the next time I attend a football game.
