I have finished another article on Iraq

I have been busy over the last few weeks finishing another article - I got asked to write something about Iraq for another NZ magazine, "Peace Researcher". Finished it on Tuesday.

It is called 'Are We Seeing a Popular revolution in Iraq?' and it looks at the current situation with the so called 'insurgents' in Baghdad Falluja and Najaf and compares it with the Iraqi uprising in 1920 against the British occupation following Britain’s post-WWI mandate over Iraq. Over 9000 Iraqis died in 1920 fighting in what Iraqis call 'The Great Iraqi Revolution'. Some of the similarities I found quite startling, and a worrying example of how the current situation may escalate, especially if coalition forces stay on Iraqi soil. Will post up on my website when magazine is released.

I also wandered into the university book shop yesterday and found copies of the magazine with my previous article in it. Was quite nice wandering into a bookshop and finding something there I had written - its nice to be published :)
