You know, I was thinking, once the gay gene is discovered, I think that we ought to start engineering our domestic animals to be gays and lesbians. Not all of them, mind you, just the majority. We could keep a few breeders around or opt for AI (artificial insemination, not artificial intelligence) when we need to arrange a litter. Otherwise, though, gay pets would be best.
For starters, we wouldn't have to deal with the unwanted litters caused by irresponsible fuckers who are too lazy to bother to spay/neuter. The amount of poor little unwanted kittens and puppies who have to be "put down" every spring really makes me sad. Also, gay pets, if anything like like people, would be cleaner, more socially out-going and less aggressive. Really, who wouldn't prefer a puppy that, rather than shredding your shoes, arranges them by designer and colour to avoid clutter.
This is just a random thought that I had last night while playing with my straight cats. Am I nuts, or does this idea have merit?
