i rode my bike (part way to work) today and it was awesome! it was only a bit over 2 miles when my knee hurt and i got on the bus, but still! i'm so glad that i'm finally able to ride again, even at a fraction of what i could before my crash. i found out that is is COLD at 7:15 in the morning, and that my fleece jacket does nothing to stop the wind. to the bike store! --for a decent jacket. still waiting for the rain... !
of course, i must say this with respect to the recent bicycle tragedies in portland. they have only steeled my resolve to bike more, and to join the fight for our rights. i think some policy needs to change, and then drivers need to be educated and HELD ACCOUNTABLE for what they do when they're in command of a 2-ton polluting death machine.
