Iron soul, be forged to steel,
Deny yourself
yourself
This body fueled so long to now
on hope
on faith
on lifeblood rich with purpose
yet hollow pumps strong heart
and wherever go the pulsing tides
they whisper of a memory
not yet mine
secret caresses from my love-
hands, furtively, thirstily, drinking in the other's touch
courageous hearts deplete from daring
starved for what they tried to give
resentfully raise the wall again
and pray this time, when you give all
they, returning, give all too
brick on brick but grimly longing
pray this time it falls for good
poem,
heartsiege
