The Daughters of the late Colonel.
I found Mansfield's prose really interesting, she made me realise that the most important events in our lives aren't quite the world-moving moments which we tend to remember, rather, it's the mundane, daily goings on which then lead to the life-altering moments which pave the path to the various choices in our lives...
The story about Jugs and Con was a symbolic representation of the role of women in the early 20th Century society - about personal and cultural status, freedom and the common feminine traits of domesticity and sense of duty to loved ones.
