When a guy by the pool pointed out to Jason one morning last week that there was popular diner in town, Jason had been surprised. He hadn't explored the town as much as he probably should, so it wasn't too surprising he hadn't found the diner. But the conversation alone was enough to make him realise he should see more of what the island offered beyond the resort. With Rory to distract him, he didn't have the same sense of restlessness he had back home, but now that he knew the diner existed, he really felt like nothing more than chilling with a burger and shake just like old times back in Dillon during his football days. The Dillon diner had been the regular hangout for the high school kids for most nights of the week, especially post Panthers games.
When the burger and chocolate shake were placed in front of him by the waitress, he returned her smile and thank her. It was so much like back home, it was surreal. He felt a twinge of homesickness but shrugged it off. Right now, he just couldn't bring himself to really miss Dillon enough to be back there. Too many niggly memories and he was happier here than he had been in a long time.
