[OTA] Luck and intuition play the cards..

Jareth was honestly surprised at how much he enjoyed his job. He wasn't one for any sort of labour, really. As a Fae, magic was used for most things...and being the ruler of the Underground, well...it was a full time job within itself, despite people's feelings otherwise ( Read more... )

David's shift was over and he couldn't be more glad. Working as a Croupier was okay as far as jobs sitting on one's arse went, but he couldn't shake the trapped feeling for the life of him. He was always glad when the shift was over so he could at least get back out into the sunshine. He'd honed the workings of a casino down long ago; Jumping giving him the luxury of being numerous different places in one day. Something the island didn't afford him and he knew he would never get used to that.

He got up out of his seat and unclipped his ID badge, but in his brief moment of looking down, he nearly ran into someone passing. "Hell, sorry about that," he said to the man and couldn't stop his eyebrows raising at the guy's appearance. It was certainly a fashion statement.

Jareth snorted as he was run into, quirking his own eyebrow in return. "No worries..I'm quite sure that you are just happy to be off shift...you are?" He smoothed out his jacket and his hair casually.

"Hell, yeah," David said with a smirk. "Don't get me wrong. The job is better than others I might've ended up with on the island but I'm not exactly used to being employed, so I'm always glad to be done with a shift. Finding something to occupy my time now, though, is another story."

"Ahh yes..." Jareth laced his fingers behind his back, looking over the floor of the Casino. "I'm not...used to employment as well." In fact, he never worked a day in his life unless he wanted to. One of the joys of being a King. "Though managing is not too far from my prior life. I suppose it is an adequate way to gain the...coin we seem to need here."

Quirking an eyebrow Jareth nodded at the fellow's lament on something to do. "The island seems to have adequate frivolities for people, I suppose." He shrugged. "Besides the ever frustrating inability to leave."

Bella wasn't old enough to throw all of her money away in gambling, but she was old enough to watch it happen. Eighteen was an adult age, but before coming here she hadn't had plans to make it to age to nineteen.

Funny how things had a strange way of changing. Changing into something she hadn't expected or even really thought about wanting. She knew what she had wanted before - a life with Edward - but now Edward wasn't here, and she didn't know if he would be, or if she would have any way of getting home again.

Those kinds of thoughts were enough to keep her from wanting to be alone, and and so she had asked for (and been given) an iced tea in the casino and was watching the people give up the money they had to their name.

Jareth made his rounds casually, his gloved hands moving between two crystal balls he conjured as he walked. Everything seemed to be in order, after all. And he'd be told immediately if something wasn't. It would be any easy fix, of course...he sometimes wished there was a bit of...challenge to his life here. Something to keep his mind of that damned Sarah.

Shaking his head slightly, he pushed her to the back of his thoughts, his eyes alighting on various people, finally coming to rest on a brown haired girl, who seemed to be sipping on something very unalcoholic. Stepping to her side, he smirked, letting his voice purr out. "You know, I'm sure I could get you with a bit more of a..bite."

The voice at her shoulder reminded her of a silken purr, something that curved up her ear and sounded like a fairy tale. Bella actually had to remind herself that she was awake and that dreams didn't sound quite this vivid.

Not unless they were....and no, that wasn't. Not in the least.

"I haven't had anything stronger than this before," she said, lifting her chin to look up into a pair of eyes she hadn't seen before. "And I think I'm a little under age.."

Jareth's multi colored eyes glinted slightly, smiling. His thrall was most likely strong at the moment..he tended to work in his true Fae form, in case he needed to call on his power.

"Ahh..as long as you are eighteen, that is the legal drinking age in some places...I suppose we could make an acception?" He continued to spin one of his crystals. With a blow and a quick twist of his hand, the crystal morphed into a bottle of gin. "First time for everything.." He put out his hand. "However, where are my manners. I'm Jareth. Current floor manager."
