At this, Remy gave a nod of understand. Fuck, it was still a battle some days to wrap his head around the fact he and Rogue had finally bit the bullet and just gotten hitched already. Despite their many ups and downs, Remy had the balls to admit to her one day that he didn't want to share her even if they had been in an open relationship since they hooked up. Then he proposed, but even then, it took another good year for him to relent and get married. Now he wouldn't have it any other way, at all. He liked that Rogue was all his and he didn't need to think about her with other men, and if any guys tried it on, basically they had a death wish. Over the time, Rogue managed to find herself a new niche in life as a fag hag to the fabulous Kurt Hummel, who had arrived on the island two years prior upon on his own death at his wedding. Even Remy, as hard as he could be, felt sympathy for the guy with that. It had to hurt, and Rogue had taken him under her wing and in turn started to work for him when he took over management of Aquatic Chaos, the extremely popular gay bar on the island... and Remy discovered he preferred Rogue in the presence of gay men rather than his own patrons slobbering all over her on a strip pole.
"It's a damn shame his beau has not put in an appearance yet. It's looking like it's not going to happen. He got other people from his world showing up all over the place, but the not one he wants." He shrugged and snickered. "Lucky I don't share my acts, or I would be having AQ steal my client base for the Asian Persuasion."
And Rogue in turn found it a lot easier not having to worry about any women her lover might find himself balls deep in. It had never sat well with her, but it had just been a part of their relationship for so long she had lost the energy to fight sharing. The day Remy came to his senses had seemed like a miracle. And the day they'd gotten married had been even more of a miracle.
Now there was no mistaking who she belonged to, even if he was still the owner of a strip club. But that she would never take away from Remy. It kept him occupied and happy when she couldn't. She nodded slowly, looking down briefly at his paperwork before meeting his gaze again. "Sometimes I think this place knows exactly what it's doin' when it holds back the people that mean most. Other times... it's bein' kind. I really don't think Kurt has interest in stealin' Mike from you. He's got enough draw cards of his own. He might just sneak in here from time to time for a peek. He thinks I don't know, but I do."
