[Closed to Faith, Buffy and Bones] Lock up

Sep 21, 2009 23:19

Who would have thought the authorities on the island would have had such a problem with sex in the pool? He and Faith had made their way from the bar to the beach, and from the beach to the pool, and somehow had ended up sans clothes and in the water in all sorts of compromising positions by the time that the police had shown up and had taken ( Read more... )

Of all the places she'd decided she wanted to see on the island, the inside of a jail cell wasn't one of them. So maybe getting hot and heavy in the pool wasn't really a good idea, and maybe she even felt bad about the traumatized look on the face of the kid that happened to catch her in the middle of screaming Jim's name, yet she couldn't actually hate that any of it had happened. It had been the most interesting thing to happen to her since getting to the island, Dengue Fever aside, and her smirk answered Kirk's grin.

"I'm thinkin' I might need to give B," she paused, "Buffy a call. Sure beats the alternatives."

"Spending a night in jail being the alternative?" He smirked and then raised an eyebrow, apparently the island was an even smaller place than the world he'd come from. "Buffy? Wouldn't happen to be a tiny little blonde thing that looks damn good in a bikini would she?"

"Callin' my ex watcher bein' the alternative." That managed to catch her by surprise and she smiled. "Got it in one. Why am I thinkin' I shouldn't be surprised you already met?"

"Watcher?" he asked, and then shrugged, "She was the one who I almost appeared on top of when the Island decided I need to take an extended vacation from my life. Explained how this whole thing worked," He contemplated sitting on the metal bed that rested against the wall, and then thought better of it. He really didn't want to know who or what had been on that bed. "Hope she can bail out both of us, as I pretty much know no one except you two," he grinned, "Not that that's a bad thing, mind you. Don't mind surrounding myself with beautiful women."

"Long story that I'll save for another time. It's complicated." Faith listened and held back her smirk. She could only imagine how B must have reacted. "Pretty sure she can? I mean, I think so anyway. Guess I better get to finding out. Though you might want to leave off the beautiful women comment if she does decide to help."

Faith called out to the officer on duty to let him know she was ready to make her call and was led out to a desk and given a list of names. They were all of the contacts she had on the island except for one name. Spaced apart from the rest and unfamiliar, Faith frowned at it. Ignoring it for the time being, she called Buffy, hoping the other slayer would pick up and be willing to come bail her, and probably Jim, out.

Buffy had had no plans like usual. Even after meeting the spaceman, she hadn't been able to bring herself to ask him to do anything that night. Her dating mojo was a lost cause much like her sexual mojo. She was sitting on the sofa in her room, top pulled up a little as she literally contemplated her navel. At least being at the beach was bringing her Californian tan back. Too many nights patrolling had her losing it. Not to mention living in Scotland. They weren't known for their sunshine.

The phone ringing had her jumping, and Buffy almost fell off the sofa trying to reach it. The last thing she'd expected to hear on the other end was Faith asking her to come bail her out.

Still, they were the original Chosen Two, and Buffy wasn't about to leave her rotting there alone. She hadn't really registered Faith saying 'we', assuming she only had the other Slayer to bail out as she dropped the phone back on the table and headed out.

Faith had honestly wondered if Buffy would actually bail her out. Sure they'd made a lot of progress while being on the island, and Buffy had been the one to keep her stocked up on junk food after her hospital stint, but this was literally bailing her out. Her relief was palpable when she hung up the phone and the cop half heartedly brought her back to the cell she'd been sharing with Jim.

"Miss me?"

"Horribly," He teased, having taken up a stance leaning against the wall, hands hooked in the belt loops of his uniform pants. "Just didn't know what to do with myself while you were gone,"

"I'm sure you didn't, killer." She sat on the very edge of the mattress and held out the list of names to him. "Got a hold of B, she's on her way. Wondered if you knew the name on the bottom there, though. I never saw it before, don't know why it'd be on there otherwise."

Jim reached over to take the list with a bit of a curious frown and looked down at the piece of paper, reading over a bunch of names he didn't recognize before finding the one that stuck out like a sore thumb. Leonard McCoy.

"...What the hell?"

"I'll take that as a yes." Faith couldn't make heads or tails of his expression, so she didn't know if this McCoy person was good news or not.

"You two got history? I mean, if you don't wanna call him, I'm pretty sure B can bail us both out. It's no big."

He's still a bit shocked about the fact that apparently Bones was on the island and not only had he not seen him yet, but the first time they were going to meet was because Jim was in lock up. Well, nothing like Deja Vu.

"No, no. He's my best friend. CMO on my ship. I just didn't know he was here,"

"Well there ya go. Damn place is full of surprises."

Faith smiled over at Jim. "You're still breathin', right? I'd hate for them to think I killed you in here or somethin'."

He smirked over at her, and waved a hand, "Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up. And yeah, it is. Guess I'll go make my phone call now," Pushing himself off the back wall he moved to the bars and motioned for the guard so that he could make his own phone call.

The phone was heavy in his hand as he dialed the number listed, hoping that Bones would be in his room, and that he'd answer when Jim called.

When Leonard had worked his way up from the beach, he headed strait towards the hotel the kid had pointed out to him. There had been a million things running through his head as he walked but nothing seemed to stick around long enough to form a thought. It was all a jumbled and confused mess that he didn't think he'd ever make sense of but they were the only familiar things to him and he clung to the chaos ( ... )

Oh. That was Bones' I'm-grumpy-and-this-better-be-life-and-death voice. Crap. If he was already in a bad mood, there was a pretty good chance he wouldn't be in the indulgent mood he normally had to be in to get Jim out of trouble. Well, hopefully something familiar in an unfamiliar place would put him back to sorts? Right.

"Hey Bones!" His voice was bright, perhaps falsely so -but he was glad there was a familiar face here, even if that face might be upset- and he resisted the urge to start in on his situation. Better to let Bones get it in his head that it was him on the line. And jesus, they were talking on a phone. Not even a comm, but an honest-to-god, wire into the wall phone. Heh, wonders never ceased.
