Down to the wire [CLOSED TO CHASE, AMBER, CAMERON, FOREMAN]

Jul 01, 2009 10:40

They had less than 67 hours to find the diagnosis and hope that Rob woke up from the coma.

67 hours, and then House would have to find a way to keep Kat Von D from pulling the plug.

Time was ticking. They had to find this diagnosis, and they had to find it fast. He wasn't even sure how many tests they could run with what they took from surgery. Not enough, he thought. It was never enough. House and his team were almost running blind, and it was a still a scramble to the finish line. He wasn't going to let this turn into another case like Esther. If there was a God, only he knew whether Rob's girlfriend would even let them do an autopsy in the first place. It was all or nothing at this point.

Wiping out the middle of the white board, House pressed his lips together as he uncapped the marker for what he hoped was the last time, pointing it at Foreman. "Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you. I'll bake you heart shaped cookies for getting lucky and correctly guessing the diagnosis later." He turned to the four fellows. "Right now, we're going to be watching the most depressingly awkward episode of Miami Ink ever if we don't hurry up and catch this thing. Go."
