I'm alive! Alright, as every new year comes I seem to promise that I will update, so we'll forgo that and say that I'll try but you've seen how this deal works before. Life here is okay, it's been hard getting back into a groove after a break for Christmas. It was unbelievably and irrationally stressful to be home for the holiday (for the first time ever in my life). My dad is still having panic attacks and it is driving Eileen and I crazy. So I'm actually feeling LESS stressed in medical school than at home. How freakin ridiculous is that.
Jessy and I had a very chill New Year's. We went to Williamsburg for a couple of days in the week between Christmas and New Year's, which was a great time to be away. I love how that place never really changes. Reminds me of when I was there with my family. So then we hung out with some friends and played board games and drank way too much champagne on New Year's Eve :)
As for now, I'm trying to get motivated to keep studying. So far this week I have been to the gym twice, went to the mall and had an expensive day with miss Ashley (I love having a little bit of Etown in this city) and if I'm lucky going to meet some friends at the bar tonight. I decided to make some New Year's resolutions, so for the interested here they are:
1) buy a new vegetable at the grocery store every week and try it to find out if I like it. By the by, this week's adventure is baby bok choy. I'm not sure how I feel about it right now, I've only made it once so far and it was...interesting.
2) go to the gym at least twice a week, preferrably 3 times a week. Not necessarily a "weight loss" measure, more a "control my stress and blood pressure" measure.
3) meditate for 10 minutes in the evening to wind down before bed.
I would also like to note that I want to keep up with my friends more. I miss you guys, a lot, and I feel like as an adult I just don't have quite enough time for all the right people. For those at Etown, as a head's up some of the grads are coming back on January 18th to go to the Village just for the hell of it. I'm trying to swing it so I can come, and hopefully you might be there too? (cough D6 cough) Just lemme know girls ;)
For a latest update, I'm impressed here. I promise I'll try to keep up more. Love you all and miss you most terribly!
