Hey Everyone!!!
Welcome back this semester, I hope you all got some much needed rest!!! We have finally set our meeting times for Monday Nights at 6:30 PM. Our first meeting will be this upcoming Monday, February 6th. Just bring yourselves and any ideas/plans you have for the upcoming semester!!!!
Also next week, will be our now annual movie night with the WGS (Women and Gender Studies) Department. We will be showing "Lost and Delirious", a movie about a teenage girl who gets sent to an all-girls private high school. She ends up rooming with two other girls, who turn out to be in a relationship. Come and check the movie out on Wednesday, February 8th at 7 PM in the BLR in Steinman. This event is open to the enitre campus, so make sure to tell your friends!!!
Furthermore, Dr. McFarland of the Social Work department has asked us to donate some time to share personal stories with her Sexuality students. This will most likely be next Thursday, February 9th at 11 AM. I'm looking for 3-4 volunteers at most. Please let me know if you're interested asap!! Be aware that the structure of the class will be a question and answer session about ourselves, as members of the GLBTQ community. Last time the first question was asked Dr. McFarland, who asked how each of us realized our sexuality.
This is just a brief update!! I know a lot of people have plenty to talk about, including the lastest movie "Brokeback Mountain". Feel free to bring friends to our allies meetings!!
