Hey Everyone,

Jason has entered the following idea for the Ideas Happen to win $25,000.

"The purpose of IAMA (Independent Artist & Musician Association) is to create a website designed around independent artist and musicians. The site would combine several different functions that currently only exist in separate websites. Resource websites may be poorly maintained, forums are often hard to understand and become arguments, artist sites themselves do not have enough bandwidth to support e-commerce or streaming media. The IAMA website would be used to support independent artists in several functions. The first would be as a free resource of information for independent artist. Having such information as a listing of college radio stations, galleries, film distributors, and how many port-a-potties you need for a concert, etc. The second is to create a mentor group of artists that would be able to answer more specific questions. The third is to give each member the ability to connect their website or host one through IAMA where they can share and distribute their wares. The last forums to discuss different challenges of staying indy. The high level of bandwidth and storage needed to maintain this for free has a high initial cost which could be buffered by this prize money."

Please vote for him here. This is something he's always dreamed of starting up and it would be so great to have something out there looking out for Indy Artists!

Edit: Voting doesn't start until the middle of November. This is just the first round to see where the interest is.
