Wow, I love this. It's intricate and colourful and fills in so much background for our poor Penny. Utterly believable. And the kick at the end is great - even though I knew it was coming you still made it feel fresh.

Wonderful story. Thank you for posting it!

Brilliantly done. Every relationship is pitch-perfect, fitting exactly right into the stages of her life and escalating as it would naturally.

I totally adore this.

*roll* Whee!

Penny comes across as very... passive, where relationships go, kind of, so as time goes on, boys get pushier and pushier and she's like, "omgwut." UNTIL THE END WHERE SHE STARTS TO GROW A SPINE YAY.

And then she dies. xd

Seriously, though. This is canon, now. *sigh*

PS - I think I found a typo:

She's flattered when on their date, he takes her out to dinner and tells her he's in love with him, but it's also really, really freaky, because they barely know each other.

Her? Maybe?

I really like this backstory for Penny. It explains a lot about the girl we see in the movie and I like that it includes the bit with when she waited for Billy with the yogurt. I also love the style. Good work!

(Random thought, not entirely related to your story, is that I don't think Billy is ultimately for her, either. (Or that Penny is right girl for Billy.) Though given they both want to change the world, they'd have a better/longer time together than she had with Captain Hammer. :P)

Hee, thanks.

I agree, to some extent. Billy's like, "oh I'm in love with her" before he ever gets to know her, which is totally dumb, and really, Penny would have had huge problems with him being a super villain, because she's totally a care bear. Billy believed in forcing her to love him, in theory (lolAustralia), and that's like, a retarded way of thinking. If Penny wasn't interested in him, giving her stuff wouldn't really change things.

BUT MAAAAAYBE~ they would have worked out for a while. xD

Exactly. I think though Penny would be interested in seeing Billy, but eventually decide not to stay with him, for reasons of him being evil.

I'd still like to see them together though, because Billy would be so adorkable trying to keep Dr. Horrible a secret from her while they dated. Or trying to break it to her gently that he is Dr. Horrible. Or heck, any number of things they might have done while dating. They just generate cute.

I definitely enjoyed the way you captured Penny's essence here.

I think this is a great characterization of her :)

I like that Andy is still involved in her life too.
