I have no idea if this is what you had in mind, but I hope you like it! ♥

they made it their home gillian/cal, emily
It's different this time.
She fears the carpet will show signs of wear from her pacing back and forth step step step turn, step step step turn.
Emily sits in the corner, a book in her hands but the page unturned, her mind coming up with worst case scenarios that Gillian can read in her eyes.
"He'll be OK." There's such certainty in Gillian's voice that Emily can but nod.
This is worse than the reunion days of Terry. Worse than when Wallowski dragged him deeper into the underworld. Worse than when he stood before her with a gun to his head; because this time she doesn't even know where he is.
They both hear the key in the lock, fix their gazes on the door as it swings open, but neither can find the strength to move. It's only when the familiar shadow is followed by the reassuringly familiar figure that Gillian takes a faltering step forward as Emily drops her book and gets to her feet.
Cal, bruised and a little worse for wear, barely flinches when he finds his arms full of his girls mere seconds later. There are tears on his jacket and light punches to his aching ribs, but he murmurs, "It's over," again and again.
It takes a while for his words to sink in, but they all believe it.
Oh I adore it love! Any picture of the three of them as a family makes me giddy. I love the idea of Cal being mixed up in something bad but realising he just has to put an end to it for his girls. ♥
More Emily-and-Gillian! I love the tremendous amount of insight into their relationship you can fit into short pieces. I love how similar they are in some ways, particularly in how they cope with Cal's escapades. Every time Gillian is comforting Emily I can totally feel her comforting herself and it's perfect.
And it seems I've come to the end of the line here. I've absolutely adored reading your work, and I'm pretty sad that I'm done. I can't wait to read more of your work in the future. :)
I do really love Emily and Gillian. :) Thank you for your lovely comment about fitting a lot into short pieces. I'm really happy that it translates, and doesn't feel rushed.
Thank you so much for going back and reading them all, and then leaving me such lovely comments on each one. I've enjoyed talking about these characters with you! I have a lengthy story in the works that has been all-systems-go and then stalled and then going again on a cycle since the end of S2. Now that we aren't getting new episodes again for a while, though, I intend to dust it off and work on it until my brain hurts so that I can finish it and get it out there. Watch this space, hopefully. :)
