I came in expecting this to be interesting and a bit sad. I was a little worried that it was in first person, which can be odd, but it worked really well for this story. And now, at the end of this story, I have to tell you, I'm exhausted-emotionally wrung out

I was so worried about the first person pov too, and luckily for me, I have an awesome friend -disneymagics- who helped me a lot to make it work.

It's hard to gage how emotionnal a story can be for the readers when you are the writer and have work so much on it you don't have any idea in the end if it's a good story or not. I'm sorry for all the feels... I guess? But pleased at the same time because any author wants what he/she writes to make an impression on the readers.

You were right about the story being potentially too passive. I talked about it with one of my betas, disneymagics, and she worked really hard on it for the passivity to be reduced to a minimum, so thanks for the advice.
