Love this chapter sis, the insight into Ianto's thoughts between what we see in Fragments and what he obviously does next...

I find that their relationship started on a lie fascinating, and how they both seem to overcome that. However, Jack appears to be a man who not only won't shot aliens unless it's 'kill or be killed', he seems to believe in giving second chances, including with love, apparently.

This is a lovely, even if dark, insight to pre-series Ianto, and at least for me, shows how in some ways, both Ianto and Jack's pasts (tho for Jack, it was long ago) are not really that different. They both are adept at cons and lies.

More about Jack's 'only if it is kill or be killed' attitude coming up in the next chapter (after which it starts to go AU...)
