vacation
Had a great time on our -- now annual -- Caribbean cruise; seven days starting and ending in Puerto Rico, and visiting Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten, and St. Lucia on the Royal Caribbean Serenade of the Seas www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/class/ship/home.do. I went on a snorkeling excursion in Aruba and we wandered around Curacao and St. Maarten. Stayed on-board and relaxed in St. Lucia. Snorkeling was kind of second best as a scuba diver, so I'm pretty charged to renew my open water certification. The weather was AMAZING, absolutely cruise perfect.
Alan Cumming www.alancumming.com/ was really entertaining as the guest performer, including a medley from Hedwig in the Angry Inch. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedwig_and_the_Angry_Inch_%28film%29. Miss Richfield 1981 missrichfield.com/ was back and more side-splitting, no I shouldn't be laughing at this tasteless humor but I can't stop crying because I'm laughing so hard than last year.
Best of all, CNN -- the only live news on the ship network -- was sporadic at best, so I was forced to detach from the world.
Big thank you to capricornboar , who took care of our house and the fat cats; not having to worry about them made the vacation much more relaxing. On a side note, Raven seems to have fully recovered from having her teeth pulled - she eats like a horse and her coat is much fuller, shinier.
We took US Airways to and from Puerto Rico -- it's a bargain carrier, but was mostly passable. We were on time and our luggage arrived with us, so no real complaints. EXCEPT the idiots who fly on a commercial airline when sick and hacking. THANKS!
We booked the cruise next year on the to-be-refurbished Celebrity Summit www.celebritycruises.com/plancruise/ships/ship.do early March 2012, which will hit the Bahamas and St. Croix, among others.
