I'm outraged over this.

I don't believe in that whole, "eh, it doesn't affect me so *shrug*" attitude.

Some of us have a multitude of LJs, I have one for FFXI, which I've kept to be able to comment in communities and to friends' journals without having to give away my RL journal. Then there's my RL journal, which was my first LiveJournal, and which I have had since 2001-ish. It has undergone about 100 layout changes, two userpicture upgrades, four or five name changes, and chronichles my most dramatic teenage years and every major and minor event, good or bad, in my life since I was 17. I've been a paid LJ user since 2003, and I've never regretted a single payment. And in addition to that, there's the MULTITUDE of communities I've created, joined, maintained, the friends I've met who's doing/done the same thing.

Every time LJ fucked up on something and people went "ZOMG NO U DIDN'T!" I've missed it. Then the next time I logged on LJ, the staff had a message for me about extra paid time, extra userpics, extra storage space, or something to apologize for the blooper they did. I don't see how anything will justify basically tearing apart the one thing that set LoveJournal apart from every other networking community out there.

I'm not quite sure what to do if this doesn't change. Getting all my friends to find one single new community (there are SO many communities built on LJ's source code - greatestjournal.com, insanejournal.com, deadjournal.com, blurty.com) would be friggin' impossible.

If I seem unreasonably angry over this, it's because I am.

I'm participating in the strike.
