(imagine Serious Cat here)
On the homepage of the Washington Post they're quoting a poll which says that most Americans agree with the main points of the Health Care bill, but are predicting it will lead to higher costs. So am I. But not because I think the bill itself will cause higher costs, but because I think the Health Care Industry will use this as an excuse to raise costs and thus simultaneously a) make an even bigger profit off of us and b) make Obama look bad. Since it will take until the market option is up and running for it to push prices down, that could be after he's out of office (assuming the worst in 2012), too late for the rest of his agenda.
I really like President Obama, you guys know that, but he may be a little too nice. In my dream last night I was shouting at people- We need a Johnson but we've got a Kennedy! Say what you will about Johnson, but he twisted arms until he got his Civil Rights bill. I don't think Obama knows how to play that dirty. All my hopes are now pinned on Rahm Emmanuel.
