thinking of getting a chinchilla but i'm afraid that levi will see it as food

Here's the thing, I love all animals. I think they need to be treated properly. I stay away from shark fin soup like it's the plague. I don't eat turtle eggs and get ridiculed for my stand against it when my extended family went to Batam for holiday where there are abundant turtle eggs. I'm neither a cat nor dog person; I love both species equally. Although, big cats are my favourite kind of animals, because they're just so majestic. And the fact that domestic cats have evolved from that hugeness is amazing. Dogs are also amazing, because they've got connections to wolves. Plus, I think snakes are gorgeous, especially the black mamba, crocodiles even more so and frogs are cute, really, with their huge eyes. I think lizards are spectacular and I would like to own an iguana. My favourite animal is the cheetah.

So you have to understand why I never really understood people who hate all animals. But I do understand those who have had apparently traumatic experiences with them and thus started hating animals. For example, facing a cat who's just jumped onto the table right in front of their faces when they were young. I understand that better after that pulau ubin incident when I got chased down a slippery heel by two huge mutts-one black, one brown- protecting their owner's house. I fell, got minorly injured, and a day later, as I was walking in the neighbourhood, I turned round a corner, and there was this medium-sized dog all of a sudden right in front of me  nd I did a double take and almost stopped in my tracks. It took me a while to get over that, maybe it was easier for me because I've always loved dogs, so yeah, if you've got a traumatic experience with animals and dislike them because of that, fine by me.

But honestly, I don't get why people would hate all animals just because they think they're barbaric, or dirty, or disgusting. Drives me up the wall.
