So what I completely love about this, aside from ALL OF IT EVERY WORD, is that this is completely the Sam from that story. Completely and totally, every inch of him.

Sam has some body image issues. And it's weird for him to watch Dean in his body, confident and cocky like always. But it's like a pantomime, because that's himself, what he would look like if he wasn't embarrassed to be so tall, worried that he was talking up too much space, accidentally intimidating people by virtue of his genetics. Dean as him is what Sam would look like if he was some other guy, some person like Dean, who made part of his charm the fact that he's so ridiculously self-confident. Sam's watching himself if he had maybe been the first born, the one who remembers mom, the one who dad always just expected to do everything right on the first try because he did.

Um, yes. YES YES YES. I mean, I think Sam has a bit of an ego in canon, but I don't think that's inconsistent with the way he carries himself.

*This* Sam has an ego. Part of his crazy emoing passive aggressive ways is that he firmly believes he's smarter than Dean, more insightful, *realer*. It's part of being brothers.

Sam thinks Dean's full of himself, and Dean thinks Sam's full of himself. That's how they roll.
