AMC 24, how I love you...

... but the Cineplex at Universal Citywalk is way cooler, yo. But mostly because they have a bar. Mmm... Oreo mudslides with extra liquor... Stupid lactose intolerance. But I digress. So just a few things...

-- The aforementioned AMC 24 (at Downtown Disney) has started playing a commercial for Wicked during its pre-show countdown. Looks amazing. Since it doesn't look like I'm getting up to NYC to watch it anytime soon, I'll just have to settle for the tour. Tampa, January 18th - February 5th. Tickets go on sale October 23rd. I think we're going to pony up for the good seats. Mmm... a weekend of theatre, debauchery at Ybor City, and a possible booze cruise on a pirate ship. Color me: Stoked. --In keeping with my trend of seeing pretty much every movie that's come out since Memorial Day... I saw two more on Sunday. March of the Penguins and Sky High (second viewing!). Now, there's some wicked good buzz on that penguin movie out there, so I figured, hey, why not. And you know what? Yeah, I don't get it. I mean, I could have watched the Discovery Channel and seen the same thing. And penguins, contrary to popular belief, aren't the most exciting birds on the land. Ostriches, now there's some excitement. They run... they totally put their head in the sand when frightened... you can ride them... they're delicious, all kinds of good stuff. Penguins? Eh. They march (though it's more like a beleagured waddle). They huddle. Swim a bit. March some more. More huddling. Just not overly exciting. And I LIKE penguins. Fave attraction at Sea World? Penguin encounter. I just don't get the docu-buzz. Give me some Spellbound any day of the week.

--And then there's Sky High, which is the new Disney teeny-bopper movie that's easily (in my not-so-humble opinion) the most watchable and entertaining movie of the summer. Well, it might be a three-way (mmm...) tie with that Brangelina joint and the Batman flick. Seriously, kids, go watch this movie. It's actually good. It's campy, it's fun, and it's thoroughly well done. And when you do watch it... let me know what your favorite character was. I go back and forth between Zack Attack and Warren Peace. But it's pretty much the Zack Attack. Warren makes it up there because I totally want to be able to throw fireballs from my hands. Can I get struck by lightning, or dropped into a vat of toxic waste or something? Please?

--I heart short days.

--Newsflash: I'm quitting Disney officially today. I'm a sad, sad environmental engineer. That can't stop grinning. Ear to effing ear.
