Transcription suggestions?

Greetings all. I've not posted here, but I was curious if anyone had any suggestions for books or exercises to strengthen transcription skills? Due to physical hearing problems and a ... shall we say problematic... early background, my ears are not quite where I'd like them to be. Transcription takes me a very long time, long enough that it becomes impractical for many projects. I'd like to have some way of working on this short of taking transcription classes through my school over and over again.
