Beating back Angel's plan for my demise. From genesis_la

When Angel had come to me with his plan for me to join him in this bringing back the Circle of the Black Thorn thing, I agreed. What the hell did I have to lose? The Senior Partners were already pissed off at me, and if I was lucky, they might continue to let me live.

But, I didn't go in blind, either. I hated Angel. I respected him for what he had done in his long-ago past, although I didn't give a piss about turning him dark, which had been the Senior Partners' mission for us and for him, for so long. I agreed, but had a chip on my shoulder and expected the worst.

The Senior Partner's might have been angry with me for trying to kill Angel and for hiding myself under the tattoos, but they would like me a lot more then they would like Angel, when they got wind of his plans for the Circle of the Black Thorn, and sure, I would help Angel in that plan, but eliminating the Sarvan would hardly make the Senior Partner's blink. They were generally weak, and afterward, they would need somebody to replace Angel, after he was flattened like a dusty pancake.

That somebody could be me. I was to go with Lorne to kill the Sarvan, and I would, but that was the extent of it. After that, I would get Eve, and make sure that Angel and all of his friends suffered, or died, to earn favor with the Senior Partner's again, because with them, and not with Angel and his little team, was where the real power lay.

On the way with the jolly green ass, I hid the gun that I had concealed, just keeping my options open. In my hands were two swords, but killing Lorne after would certainly display, not only to the Senior Partners, my strength, but also, with killing Lorne, it would display that I was on their side. Again, they wouldn't miss the Sarvan.

I kicked the door in, thinking about being in power again, and using that adrenaline, and Lorne's high notes, occassionally, I wiped out the Sarvan. It took like seven minutes and was a joke. I knew that the Senior Partners were watching, and after washing my hands, I pulled the revolver from my pocket and turned, concealing it from Lorne. I wanted to hear if he had anything to say before killing him, but he just talked about how unsavory the work was and how this was it for him. Then, he raised the gun.

Before he could fire, I put one between his eyes and watched him fall. He wasn't dead. I knew about his clan of Pylean demons from all of my studies of team Angel. His heart was in his left butt cheek. I smiled, picked up one of the bloody swords, and carved his left butt cheek up, with several deft swipes. I then chopped his head off, for good measure.

Putting the revolver back into my pocket, I made my way back towards the lawfirm to get Eve. It would all start there, and hopefully, I would hear from the Senior Partners in some way. On the street and running in the rain, the demon noise was pronounced. It was going down, and Angel was going to pay for trying to have me killed, but first, I had to save my baby. I had to save my Eve. It couldn't be safe there, and she was mortal, now.

Still, Angel sent Lorne, his weakest flunkie to kill me. He was dead, whether the Partner's wanted me back or not. Back at the lawfirm, I noticed that it had crumbled, and demons rushed by, not paying me any mind. That's when I found Eve's body and saw the look of terror on her face.

Angel was really going to pay now.
