While stumbling around Salon.com, I read an article about the meme 25 Random Things on Facebook, and the author commented on the beauty of it, how there are little gems in each one. That's why I enjoy them.
http://www.salon.com/mwt/feature/2009/02/07/25_random/?source=newsletter So here's my list, and if you haven't done one or we aren't friends on Facebook (why aren't we friends on facebook?), I'd like to see yours.
25 Vastly Important Things to Know About Sheri!
Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.
(To do this, go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.)
1. My personal mailbox is full of Facebook notifications for the past week. I intended to reply to them when I had time (ha!), but I know that will never happen. I might as well do it now.
2. Thanks to the book Color Me Beautiful, I know I am a Winter. That means I don't look my best wearing browns, yellows or golds, but look great in plenty of reds, bold jewel tone colors, silver, and especially black and white. I'm very happy about this.
3. I have a lot of great, wonderful friends. Incidentally, none of my close friends has ever cheated on their significant other. I wonder if that's a positive correlation.
4. I really, really want a Snuggie!
5. More so than astrology (which is not to say very much), I believe in name analysis. Of course, my cousin Sheri and I are very different, but that could simply be because by being second, she had to distinguish herself from me. If you want me to look up your name in my book, let me know.
6. Every year, I find new reasons to miss my Mother.
7. My favorite comfort food is: meat + steamed Jasmine white rice = yum!
8. I like television shows that are resolved by the end of the episode. Examples: House, Law & Order, Private Practice and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
9. My sisters are very, very cool. I want to have them close (physically and emotionally) to me for my entire lifetime.
10.There has been a lucky name in my life. I plan on naming one of my daughters this name. (Not telling! It's my lucky name!)
11. Water is my favorite drink. Tea with lemon is a close second.
12. Books are my friends! I could write 25 things about how books and writing have being paramount in my life but I believe most of you have heard it before. Oh, and Love in the Time of Cholera is still my favorite book.
13. The two books I intend to read this year: Lolita (halfway through it) and A Wrinkle in Time. They keep on getting pushed back.
14.I self medicate with lots of sleep and plenty of water (see 11).
15.When I was a little kid in Honolulu, I believed that I could control the wind.
16.I think I've got a pretty good sense of intuition. It's like a computer in my head, and I'm not sure exactly how it works.
17.If I could live in a video game world, it would be Pokemon. Pleasant, the animals fight and faint (not die) and kids can save the world.
18.In my head, there is a fantasy restaurant that serves my favorite dishes from homes and restaurants I've dined in. This restaurant probably wouldn't work in real life.
19.My first kiss and second kiss to different people were a year apart, either on Dec 25 or Dec 26th. I'm not sure of the date anymore. :*
20. Happy old people are incredibly cute to me, in the same way puppies and babies are cute to others. When I am a cute, happy, old person, I will be saving coupons for the people I meet and will heartily encourage them to eat fiber.
21. I like having nicknames. As we know, I nicknamed myself in my first year of middle school.
22. Despite being an introvert, I do my best to be nice to newcomers simply because I know how awkward it is to not included in the group.
23. Rotten milk is so vile to me, that I will smell the milk when even when it's just been opened and often have someone else smell it just to make sure.
24. I know that I will be just fine. ;)
25. I've been using the Downy ball for so long that when using new washing machines, I'm not sure when during the rinse cycle to put in the liquid fabric softener.
Addition to #1: I'm still not done with my Facebook notifications, but 7 am-7:30 pm really is an exhausting shift and I think it's time for bed. Sweet dreams, dears.
