All right. I've been reviewing my notes and I think a change is in order. So, this is going to be the official go-to entry for what we know of Wonderland. Feel free to direct any and all questions to me, as well as show newcomers to this list. I think it would help the never-ending "where are we, what is this place, and what are mirrors?" questions. Everyone has them. Why not stop them before they're asked?
The mansion:
You are now in a mansion called Wonderland. I have reason to believe it somehow correlates to the children's story, Alice in Wonderland, but exact details are not yet known to me. Anyway, the mansion seems to revolve around memories. Often, events, incidents, occurrences, whatever you want to call them, happen that affect everyone within the mansion. It can be a physical, mental, or emotional change and there's usually no way to determine that you've been affected until after the event. For the duration, you will believe the memory is real and true. Corny, I know, but it's the truth. After the event is over, a significant word will be lost or forgotten for the people of the same world the memory originated from. For instance, the court trial a while back was my own and I have since lost the ability to say a specific word. Had Mr. Edgeworth been with us at the time, he, too, would have lost knowledge of the same word. And don't ask me which word it is. I can't remember. The residents themselves may have knowledge of each event beforehand, but it appears that no one actually has any control over them. The residents simply are able to warn us in a way, though they're more cryptic than the cheshire cat.
Occasionally, I've heard that memories may have a permanent affect on the mansion, but these cases are rare.
Death seems to be a rather common occurrence here. There's a limit on how many times a person can come back. It sounds like that limit is somewhere around five times and the more times you die, the longer it takes before you are revived. Speaking from experience, it's possible and not very pleasant to die. I'd suggest avoiding it if possible.
"Time does not pass here the way it does on our home worlds. If any of your friends were to arrive, they would be unlikely to have ever noticed you left, and no one here ages."
Mirrors:
A mirror image of everyone exists. They're trapped for the most part on the other side, in the corrupted "other" version of the mansion. When we say mirror version, we mean mirror version. It's like a world of opposites and it's controlled by the Queen. It is possible to cross from one side to the other, but a mirror and an original cannot exist on the same side at the same time. The mirrors can't look at their own reflection on this side. It forces them to return to their side, which would also pull the original back to our side. Mirrors can be used as a form of communication, should someone become stuck on the other side, and you can also contact a mirror version using this same method, though I'd suggest being careful with that. Anything written on them from that side is visible to this and vice versa.
"All the reflective surfaces here allow the other side to see what we are doing, and when they're broken, they only repair; covering them is more economical in the long term, although we can still be heard through them." - In other words, privacy is non-existent. Get used to it.
Welcome to Wonderland, guys. We're here for the long haul.
((OOC: You guys have no idea how much willpower it took not to type out “you are now playing the game” at the top of the cut.))
