Happy Birthday to Me... yesterday!

So Maggie came up on Friday and we bummed around. Then on Saturday we went to Philly to see the city and Justin Foster. Oh him. lol. But anyways, the trip was full of adventures. Including me giving another car the smiley face cookie and them being EXTREMELY confused by it. (I love you Eat'N'Park) We went to Reading Terminal and ate there and then shopping around. I was the leader of the pack since I've been to Philly before and my dad gave me all kinds of places to go and see. It was beyond awesomeness. The most exciting part being right after we got food because we were starving and then suddenly I looked up and there was the exit that we were supposed to be taking. I yelled and Maggie swerved. Luckily we made it becuase it was a toll road and we would have had to pay more, which always sucks. Stupid toll roads. Then we stayed in bed all Sunday to watch movies. Had a mishap making a breakfast cake lol. Then she took me to a bar for my first drink as a 21 year old. Although I must say that Mad Mex was closed which makes me unhappy, but we went to the Phyrst which was fun too. Then we went home so Maggie could drink too and I taught her how to play pool. That turned out to be quite a fun adventure.

I took yesterday by myself nice and slow. Took a long bath and refused to wash dishes or clean up after myself. But I also got a call from the Student Bookstore. I have a job! I go for my first day tomorrow, which I'm assuming is training since I don't know how to use a cash register yet. I'm in the art department (which I wasn't aware the bookstore had) but I'll be cutting boards and paper and canvas for people. It sounds fun to me! (well as fun as a job can be) But I'll have this job all through the coming school year too. Which should be interesting since I have 2 400 level english classes when I told myself I would never do that again... but one is for the business minor oddly enough.

That's about all. I'm getting along with my embroidery and my 2000 piece puzzle. I read the entirety of The Art of War by Sun Tzu and it's really insightful although he often speaks in strange metaphors and avoids actually saying anything. When he finally does say something it's important. I'm still working on the Iliad though. If I could just focus enough to actually sit down and read it. After one book of it you're just exhausted, especially when they are battle scenes and all they talk about are how everyone dies. But it's actually turning out to be one of my favorite books! I can't wait for the Odyssey and the Aenid (which I can't spell right now)

Anyways, back to Dark Angel and embroidery! SQUEE

PS I'm 21... I can go to a bar... I can by my own stuff without a middle man... I can walk into a liquor store and not have to pretend I'm just along for the ride. Take that old roomies and PSU friends! I don't need you! lol (I can't wait to see them during artsfest... and maggie and home people if they come up too!)
