So I had a really awesome comment in my head, but then I read the end and now I'm just like:

Ahahahaahaa I LOVE THAT. That is so, so perfect.

I am still giddy over the fact that, despite it being planned for something like 7 chapters, I still managed to make it a surprise XD

HOLY JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY! OH SHIT! DAMMIT! *breaks down into laughter* For the love of god please update soon! I have to figure out how this goes! Oh shit..go away Laurie! Sorry, I only like Laurie when she's completely non-threatening to Ror's and Dan's relationship. Fortunately I know you love our boys to much to break them up. (yes, that is a thinly-veiled threat...)

Duuuuude. Do you really think I'd spend 16 chapters maneuvering them into something that kinda sorta resembles a relationship and then tear it apart? :D

I will try! This story is slow going in general because I've already invested so much time so I get fussy about making sure every bit of it's up to par, but do not despair, I am on it.

And thanks!

Jesus, is that fear? Why the hell would it be fear?
something like griefI keep coming back to these reactions on every re-read, they're absolutely my favourite part of the Laurie meeting. They're essentially empathic reactions - Dan and Laurie's very first distinct reactions, and they are actually reactions to somebody else's reactions. I think this bodes so well for their future, I find them very hopeful because they indicate these guys aren't going to fall back into their same old mode that we saw in the GN, where Laurie regards Ror as a trollish subhuman nuisance and Dan regards their fighting as irritating but meaningless noise only until it threatens his personal pride ( ... )

Temporarily, yeah; when they find out that Laurie's actually a secret elephant in disguise, paid by the evil overlords who are actually the owners of GD to keep them from interfering in what it turns out is just a huge advertising campaign, with the brainwashing and everythi-

WHOOPS. SPOILER.

(yes, they're both more self-aware and more aware of each other, and that's partly time to reflect in Laurie's case and brain damage in Ror's, but there's another element to this whole world/scenario that I haven't touched yet that also explains some of it. But. Yes. It's deliberate.)

Haaaa~ Finally caught up, after a long night, (and only somewhat shorter day) of reading. My eyeballs hurt, I have a growing headache, but my fangirlish spaceheart is so happy that it could burst right out of my being. X3 ( ... )

I seriously have noooo idea how to reply to a comment so big haha. So I guess: thank you, I'm seriously honored. This fic in particular has been a labor of love and I'm so glad it's still standing up - I'm writing it in such disjointed pieces that I worry - and that it was enough to inspire marathon reading sessions!

I will go back and reply to some of the stuff from your other comment there, but, I hope you stick around and explore some other peoples' writing on LJ too, it's a wild and crazy and super talented fandom, and I've never felt so at home. :)

Eheh... I do kind of type a lot. I wish I had half this drive when I'm actually trying to write something. lol
I have to admit (because I'm always hesitant about joining new fandoms, for some reason) that I'm really anxious to see more stuff like this. From you, and from others. Sometimes I feel entirely too picky about the fics I read, and think that I might be missing out on something awesome... But then again, I've read some things that make me feel pretty justified in being suspicious. XD;
Hum. Point being, I'll put aside my generalized fanfic bias, and take your advice to go a-hunting through LJ's Watchmen communities~ I'm becoming more and more convinced that I won't be disappointed. :)

P.S. Reading "Now, As Before"~ No. I haven't actually stopped reading after chapter 16. Just moved on to another story. XD
Sleep is probably not a thing that's going to happen tonight.

If you like big epics, I'd recommend i-am-your-spy's Ordinary World series and scarlet_carsons's 'Last Days of an Unreal City'. daylilymoon has an amazing Western/coyboys AU and a lot of other stuff as well, steals_thyme is amazing and is all over the gamut content-wise(some adult, some not), and brancher has some amazing stuff that's almost all porn but good god is it well written. radishface at daikontime does both art and fic but her fic is amazing, the China AU in particular is like, holy crap wow.

There are actually a LOT of AUs in this fandom that are amazing. Zombies are by far one of the least cracky, but they're all fantastic. XD

(The zombie AU, btw, goes ON AND ON. It is a sprawling monster. Have fun. XD)
