Cafe Diaries Part 3

May 28, 2009 13:50

So before I head off to study french like I promised myself I would, (I have a french test tomorrow and if I fail I won;t get a certificate from alliance francaise :( ) I have yet another cafe to share with you! CAFE DIARIES PART 3: Casual Poet along New bridge Road

A quaint little cafe HIDDEN (quite literally, shu nad and I almost got lost looking for this place) on the 3rd floor of a shophouse along new bridge road. It's small, about 5 tables in total. Food was actually very average, the coffee sucked so bad it was as if they forgot to add in the shot of espresso, and the milk was LUKE WARM UGH UGH UGH. and it's so expensive too, $5 for a cup of coffee. DONT BUY THE COFFEE, WHATEVER YOU DO. DO NOT.
what I would recommend is the dessert! We had apple crumble with ice cream, great if you have a really sweet tooth.

Other than that, I think you should pop by just to visit and see the cafe, because it really is quite a gem in Singapore (apart from the food lah). It;s a cafe cum bookshop for independent artists/poets/badgemakers/stationary makers/authors/singers.

A great place to just sit down and read (if you get a table by the window if not it's pretty dim) or just hanging out with friends. They have a mini library too with really good reads, the time travellers wife, the bell jar, the great gatsby, love in a time of cholera! :)

I couldn't stop taking photos, the rest are on facebook!

beware, it is really really image heavy!
