Anyone got any ideas on how to get taken seriously (update) in a work context?

generally by saying serious things.

if i were to say to my dad "one of my favourite colleagues collapsed at work today, and shes in hospital", he'd take me pretty seriously.

if i were to say to one of my colleagues "my dad collapsed at work today, and hes in hospital", i guarantee the same.

if i were to say "i collapsed at work today, and im in hospital", noone would take me seriously because thats patently silly.

if you say something serious, and the person doesn't take it seriously, whether it's "my dad's in hospital" or "i feel your proposal is redundant in light of the recent legislation change" or "it's becoming increasingly important to me to have a good book to read in case i wake up in the middle of the night", then they're a fucking TARD and will go to HELL. where noone will take them seriously.

i know, not particularly useful, but really, for me, it's about whether i take myself seriously, and have confidence. if i'm feeling at the top of my game, i don't give a shit whether some fucko doesn't believe in me, or take on board what i say. if i'm feeling like arse, then i end up in tears when my mother asks me if i want more brocolli.
