I ran into Cristoff on Corfu and learned that he'd cursed the money I'd swindled out of the Hicks woman. Can't say I I got upset about that; while it seems a a bit of a heavy price for a moment of stupidity on my part, I might have done the same. It certainly explained why I have been so frustrated getting anywhere I need to be!

After some discussion of Victor's latest prank--somehow changing bodies with Cristoff and stranding him on Corfu with no money or identification--I decided the most pragmatic thing to do was to give the cursed money to him so he could get back to Sunnydale and have at his revenge. Perhaps in the process he'll manage to clear my name a bit. I'm not the most upstanding man, but I would never stoop to kidnapping an innocent party for revenge. At least Cristoff seems to know the truth, now.

Eva is a different story. I phoned her while I was waiting to make plane reservations yesterday, purely as a favor to Cristoff, as she had refused to accept his collect call. She just about bit my head off, and I get the feeling Cristoff is not going to get the welcome he expects from her.

All of which is the least of my problems. The small commuter flight I booked went dreadfully off course last night. It was touch and go for a while when we experienced engine trouble far out over the Atlantic. So much for the bad luck going away with the cash! The plane nearly went into freefall. I suppose I must have blacked out for a while, because I woke today, in the ocean, clutching the bloody seat cushion/floatation device, with the rest of the airplane and its passengers nowhere in sight. Lovely.

After some hours of this, hoping an island or something would pop into view, I saw something strange on the horizon, and I was drifting toward it. As I did, I realized it was a huge gaping portal of some sort. Nothing I could to to get away (in fact thrashing my legs about seemed to only get me closer) and I got sucked through.

Well at least it's dry in here. My trousers are merely damp after exploring the seemingly endless tunnel I've found myself in. It seems to be lined with doors, although I've tried a couple and they don't readily open. Possibly a spell is required...

*Stands before a random door and begins to chant. It opens...as does the one behind him, and all the other doors he'd tested. He feels a whoosh of heat from one and a frigid chill from the other. Stares in fascinated horror as the cold air rushes past him and into the hot doorway. Hears a sudden howling of demons from beyond it.*

Oh crap, what now?
