Well, I missed the bloody auction. Unbelievable luck, there was a bomb threat shortly after the plane took off last Wednesday, and due to weather patterns over France we were forced to land in Iceland. Not even at the airport in Reykjavik, but in a field in some pesky village in the middle of nowhere, in case the plane blew up. Well, they searched the airplane from top to bottom and found no actual bomb, but it was a tense several hours.

Then to top things off, we couldn't find a single direct flight to Amsterdam sooner than a fortnight from then. None of the flights would have gotten us there in time for an 8 am auction. So Tori and I decided to stay, enjoy a little mini-vacation with each other and the hot-springs, until I decided what to do next. Had a rather lovely time in spite of the unexpectedness of the visit--who knew Iceland was so beautiful? At least it's July, eh?

It seems like my only choice in to go back to London and take another of the jobs. I managed to phone the auction house and learned that the desk was snapped up at a bargain basement price. Damn, of all the luck!

Last night Tori got an emergency call from Dylan. It seems there's a vampire slayer vampire that Wolfram and Hart brought in from god knows what dimension that they need her help with. She seemed reluctant to run back to California, and I hate to see her go, but I understand her need to to help. Any monster that can beat up that indestructible whelp of Angel's is going to require strong magic to take care of. I'll be seeing her off at the airport in a couple of hours, then back to work for me.
