The Children of Bodom show

On December 10th I went to go see Children of Bodom, Trivium, and Amon Amarth. It has been over a week since this show has happened, but I decided to tell about it anyway.

AMON AMARTH: Awesome set, but it was short. The songs they played included The Pursuit of Vikings, The Fate of Norns, Releasing Surtur's Fire, Death in Fire and For the Stabwounds in Our Backs. I might have forgotten one, I cannot remember. These guys headbang like a motherfucker. I hope to see them again shortly and hopefully with a longer set. I had met Johan after their set and he had told me about a new Amon Amarth album to be released in 2006. If this CD contains the technicality of Fate of Norns and the speed and brutality of The Crusher, I will absolutely love that album.

TRIVIUM: First off, I don't really like these guys. I believe that's enough said. Their tech sucked because there was feedback every 10 seconds. The only cool thing is that they played Dimebag's guitars and covered "Walk" and another Pantera song.

CHILDREN OF BODOM: These guys were excellent. They have energy which is always a plus, I hate when guys stand there the whole time and do nothing. Also, their light show was great.... not too much, and not over done. They played some newer material which I wasn't too happy about. But they did play some killer songs off of Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper. Another thing I wasn't happy about is that they didn't play one goddamn song off of Something Wild! Oh well, maybe things will be different when they tour again.

After the show we went outside to wait by the tour buses for Bodom. After a long wait in the cold, myself and RJ got to meet Henkka and Alexi. They were cool as hell. Henkka really thought me and RJ were awesome dudes. I still think that's awesome. We talked to him for a good while. He actually didn't mind having a long conversation with us. He then took pics of me and RJ for a page that he is designing for the fans. I wait to see these pics on the web. All in all, it was a killer show!
