Today's image was inspired by Photo Argus. I've been reading/ watching this website for its photography tips, the inspirational challenges and the awesome photography they display. This week they posted
Photography Techniques for Landscape photography and one of the images posted there reminded me to this one, that I shot in 2003 at the
Baltic Sea.
If you've been following this blog for a while, you know that I am a huge fan of the Baltic Sea and travel there "frequently" (I try to make it up there once a year). This shot was taken in the very hot summer of 2003. At the time I still shot film and this image was taken on a Velvia Slide Film. I had gotten up 4:30 am to head to the beach. I had taken my tripod on a trip for the first time (despite its convenience), but found that this morning it was all worth it. I was welcomed by this beautiful scene and light - set up rather quickly and took this image. Of course, like the entry at Photo Argus will tell you, the image may have been better if I had used a graduated ND filter at the time - well, I did not own one at the time. But this image still remains one of the favorite images I've ever taken up there.
