Most of you spend a lot of time around horses, some of ya'll have been around horses all your life.
But for those who started at 7, 10, 13, 16, whatever, do you remember the first time you saw a really nice horse, the first time you understood what conformation was, and knew that that horse, whatever horse it was, was the closest horse you have ever seen to perfection, or had the most amazing eyes, or the most gorgeous head you have ever seen? How the first time you watched a horse either fly around the barrels or go sailing over a massive oxer, or take off at a full gallop out in the field... how it just took your breath away? How when you first started it didn't even have to be that, just being in a barn with more than one rickety old poney could take you breath away.
When you're around horses a LOT, you don't get that feeling as much, you see them so often, or just horses in general, that it takes a really, REALLY special horse doing something really, really special to have that moment.
I got that feeling when I first saw Katie, and I got that feeling at the Rolex, and I got that feeling today.
Mirago's baby is STUNNING. Mirago is an arabian, and the sire if a trakhener, and Map is massive. He's almost 4 months old, and his whithers are already at my chest. He looks like a 6-8 month old colt. He's going to be a deep red bay, two socks, a broken stripe down his head, these amazing, deep curious, intelligent eyes, and two arabian-like ears. His head is not dipped like an arabian, but it is small and well shaped. He's going to have a huge chest, he already has a beautiful shaped neck, and his butt is nothing short of stellar.
His legs are JET BLACK.
I was scratching his neck and went to finish picking out the stall and I turned to look at him and he was staring something down in the barn isle and he looked so amazingly freakin gorgeous it made my heart stop.
If he continues to grow at even half this pace he will be every bit of 16.3-17.2
I love when horses like this come by, they make every bit of sweat and tears and hard work worth it.
I think I am in love with him.
