ok.
what a sucky first-week back. since parsons never read my EE (that i gave end of november) until last weekend, i couldn't work on it during the break, but then had to work on it this week. it wasnt too bad until i gave it to Mr. B and he... said it was too short! AH. So parsons printed out a stack of papers for me to read. and now i have to add to my essay. :(
i got my predicted mark from Ms. Pall. for a complete rant, talk to me at school. here's the summary: she only remembers my bad test/quizes. she predicted me really low, even tho i have the same mark as someone else who got predicted higher. AND she said theres no more tests cause SHE ALREADY KNOWS HOW WE"RE DOING. no she doesnt. my mark was more than 10% higher last year, but she doesnt look at that, but her students last year get IB1 taken into consideration. grrr. next week i'm going to talk to her (i'll make sure to be calm and rational!)
string ensemble on tuesday was a bore. took FOREVER to get everyone tuned. and i had to help them. i wish ppl in the group were better. (it makes me look bad too :(
english commentary that we got back just proved that i cant spell... and i cant write. :( but the skits we did were funny... ours i think was a bit freaky.
'math' is now synonymous with 'frustrating' and 'dissapointing'. Test was terrible. and the worst part is, i thought i was ready!!! i knew how to do the stuff!!! :(
but i finished zorba last night! oh it's amazing! great book.
got bio test back, which was only good in one of the three categories. went to talk to ms. roberts today and my mark is clearly improving! yay! (bio was supper low last term) so that was good.
got up early this morning for string ensemble .... and PORTER NEVER SHOWED UP. ah. i hate that.
we had 2 chem labs to do today, and sara and i had to work into lunch just to finish 1 of them!! we had to set up the stupid 4 burrets for the whole class to use... and then ms. pall changed the temperature setting of our hotplate, and by the time i noticed, our test-tubes were at 70 degrees instead of 35!!!! so it took forever to get them to cool down, we had to change the waterbath, oh it was annoying. and i was scheduled to read (for Reach) today, so i was late since i had to the lab, and then go see ms. roberts, cause i told her this morning that i would come at lunch (since i forgot i was scheduled) so i only read for half the time. got some more ideas about the formation of the team. now i have to come in another day to do the other lab, tho, which REALLY sucks cause i'm almost always super busy at lunch. i wrote a lot for the zorba assignment, but i hadnt' prepared beyond the second chapter, and in class only got to the end of chapter 3. not good.
but history has been AMAZING lately. oh i love it. we just finished the renaissance, and we're now doing the English Reformation. so we watched Elizabeth (with Parsons commentating). oh it's so amazing how much England changed between Henry VII and James I !!! (but dan and ben are annoying loosers. only scott keeps me sane in that class)
i'm kinda screwed for writer's craft, tho. we were supposed to decide what we were going to do for our summative in december, but i was between a poetry anthology or a novel (an extension of the short story i wrote). ms. evans told me to work on the novel over the break, and if it went well to go with that, otherwise i could always fall back on the poetry (since i do that anyway). but, of course, i didn't touch the story at all. so i dont know which i'm going to do; if the novel worked out it'd be better than the anthology, but i dont know if it'll work, and i know for sure it'll take more effort and long chunks of time. AND an annotated bibliography of our research on our chosen genre is due next week!!! AHHH
but i was in a good mood today. it was a much better day than the rest of the week. or maybe not, but i was in a good mood anyway.
so i got home, organized all my univ papers, cleaned my room a BIT (it's still a tremendous mess). and then practiced violin for 45 min, then had supper, then practiced for another 45 min. (total: 90min) oh it felt so good. (i hadn't practiced since tuesday :(
i really like the Haydn concerto i'm playing now. but one of my studies has ***6 sharps*** AAAAHHHHH it's crazy. and the other one is 2 pages entirely in second position *dies* (none of u are going to know what i'm talking about, so just trust me: 2nd position is a complete PAIN) and then i practiced 2 of the OYO pieces. arg they're hard. and FAST. oh well. i didnt practice scales :P
and now i'm doing bio.
