Eventful Day
So we came in 4th in the City. (Reach for the top)
the finals were yesterday.
It was soo much fun!
1st game against Gloucester: we beat them (yay!)
2nd game agains Lisgar: it was SO CLOSE!! lost by only 30pts. We won at heart. That was a lot closer than i thought it would be. :D
3rd game against Bell. ... uh, shocking. dunno what happened.
4th game against Holy Trinity. we won
5th game against Merivale. we creamed them. (sorry Tas :P )
meaning we were in 4th going into the playoffs, cause lisgar had 1 loss (yay they WEREN"T undefeated!!!! against Bell), Gloucester had 2 losses (against Lisgar and US) and Bell had 2 losses (against Merivale and Gloucester) and we had 2 losses (Lisgar and Bell). So all the teams were pretty even. it came down to point ratios.
playoffs: we lost against Bell. (again!!!!) but it was a lot closer.
so that ended my last-ever Reach tournament. :(
they're a bad team to lose to. cause they're not a good team. lol i know that doesn't sound like a solid argument but i wont start rambling here. if u were there u know what i mean.
if we could have played Gloucester in the playoffs instead of Bell we could have advanced. or maybe even against Lisgar. so it's too bad we had to play them again.
so we gave up our beloved plaque:
Lisgar being 1st (grrr; but expected), Gloucester 2nd (HUGE improvement from last year. and they DIDN'T practice b4 the last tournament! o_O), and Bell 3rd. CB 4th, Merivale 5th and Holy Trinity 6th. (and the 15 or so other teams in the other pools don't matter.)
oh yeah, and top 3 teams advance to provincials.
so Mme. Chartrand smartly commented that Bell's water supply will somehow get poisoned. the poor kids will get influenza, and so will not be fit to travel to toronto. and, who would have guessed?, CB will get an invitation to replace them at the provincials. muahahahahahahaaha :P
Good luckies to next year's team!! i'm sure we can put CB back at the top. :P

loved Amanda and Gurjot! Good luck at canadian idol ammie!!!!!!
loved Moonlit!!!! WOW they were so amazing!!!!
left after that. SO MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE. like almost all the IB2's :P
too bad that was the first coffee house i ever went to. and too bad i wasn't on stage :P

edit: i forgot some other things about the tournament!!! firstly, the police codes category was TOTALLY RANDOM. wow most useless thing ever. something like "in police codes, what does 1049 mean?" we had to guess for every single one. and the 3 teams going to provincials this year are ALL GUYS. only one girl. one really weird girl. on the bell team. heheh and all the buzzers were really weird. there was one set similar to ours, but Seb was haveing trouble with his. then there was a hand-held set, with orange and black tiger stripes that only lit up for the reader. and then there was the set with the huge greeen and red lights, and Ramya and I figured out that the interval between the buzzes for each side was a major sixth. :P we're such nerds. if it weren't for that shutout, against lisgar!!! we would have been in first going into playoffs!! or all those other dumb mistakes i made, in various games. oh well. that's the problem. we COULD have done a lot better. there are so many little factors + luck. ok gotta really get on to history essay and practicing for english orals now. toodles.
