I have a friend, newly returned from the desert
and changed by it forever in ways both subtle and
obvious.
The desert is the Forge of God wherein we are heated
to a pliant elasticity in the fires of our passions;
Re-formed and re-shaped under the under the hammer of life
against the anvil of our own internal dialog and tempered
in the oils and waters of our own personal experience.
The desert is so much more than a place, so much more than
a geographical location. It is a part of the state of our being
and a place where all who live must dwell for a time.
The desert is a good place to visit but it would be hard to live there.
Sleep deep and dream well.
