Happy birthday, Sasori-san--if you can still manage to salvage it. How old are you this year? [Kisame is grinning in amusement in spite of himself, though he still looks somewhat sympathetic. At least he's managing not to laugh?]
I'll have you know that I'm alive, and I still get plenty of work done--you'll be able to, too, once you get used to it again. That is, if you don't keel over first--you should go eat something. You'll feel better.
[And then he'll have to deal with the joys of going to the bathroom.... He almost smirks at the thought. Kisame tsks to hide it.] You should forget about the cigarettes, too; a good shinobi doesn't sabotage themselves by poisoning their own body like that.
Hey, that's not too bad. I'm thirty-two, myself. And who says an old dog can't learn new tricks, huh? You'll do fine at getting used to all this again, if you put your mind to it.
[He flops back comfortably on his bed, rather unbothered by the mention of hypocrisy.] I never intended to be a perfect work of art, though. And I don't immediately want to reach for a bottle of booze when I'm stressed out or needing to focus, either. Are cigarettes something you even can build up an immunity to?
This body does appear to be the same as it was when I was fifteen, which I suppose is an advantage. And it's true that I have yet to fail to meet a challenge I've made to myself.
[He flushes, irritated.]
Yes well, I maintained my body in absolutely perfect condition before I transformed myself. Quite a number of puppet masters allow themselves to grow soft because of our emphasis on long-range combat, but I made it a point not to do so myself.
And I don't need them to focus.
I simply choose to use them for that purpose.
...I could stop whenever I wish, but I don't wish to, that's all.
Besides, I don't intend to keep my lungs long enough for it to even become an issue.
You look in decent shape to me--definite point in your favor, I'd say, especially for whatever challenges you'll need to face.
[Definitely looks more realistic than his puppet body, actually, and it doesn't even look half-bad; he's definitely got proof that he's one tough little guy. Kisame smirks, both at the scars and at how amusingly cute Sasori is when he blushes--and only smirks more at Sasori's insistence on his independence. He's heard stuff like that before.]
Right, of course you could. All of that is your own choice, naturally. However long you're going to keep your lungs, you've still got your stomach at the moment. Why haven't you gone to get something to eat yet?
[Have a little shooing gesture, Sasori. Akatsuki's Mommy is totally nagging you. Are you going to disappoint Mommy by not taking care of yourself? :'(]
[Kisame only chuckles at him, shaking his head a little in amusement. Sasori's fun to see so easily flustered....]
Yeah, you keep thinking that; as long as it makes you happy, that's what's important. [His grin widens.] Just don't forget to get some protein into yourself; after twenty years, I imagine you might not have needed to think about proper nutrition, either.

I'm thirty-six.
There are quite a few inconveniences I've become accustomed to living without. This will take some considerable re-adjustment.
[He scoffs.]
And I'd built up immunity to a number of toxins even before I'd transformed myself, I'm not particularly concerned about the effects of cigarettes.
[He smirks slightly.]
And you're not one to talk. Alcohol isn't exactly the best thing for one's body either.
...Besides, they help me focus.

He frowns slightly at Kisame's smirk however, and he can feel that the redness of his face has yet to fade.
...Damn this skin for being so pale and showing a hint of a flush at the drop of a hat.]
Yes, I most certainly could do without smoking, if I wanted to. But I don't want to.
[He crosses his arms, making it clear he will not be moved on this point.]
As for eating, it...it merely slipped my mind. It's been twenty years since I had to think about it, after all.
[He feels his stomach rumble.]
I'll go eat something shortly.

[He turns thoughtful.]
Deidara tends to look after himself, but I suppose I'll have to do some hunting as well.
It's been quite some time, I must say
