We won! We're in the World Series! My dad is trying to buy tickets to game six (in the hopes that there will be a game six) I'm probably going to be swamped with homework and other crap, but if I'm not, he says he'll pick me up on the way to boston to see a game of the world series! I know this is wishful thinking, and that he probably won't get tickets, and I probably won't be able to go even if he does get tickets, but I'm hoping.
I'm back at the Mawr, though my trip home was hell. I'm so used to not checking baggage that I think of one hour early as being plenty of time for a flight. But I had to check a bag because my big backpacking pack is too big to carry on. Apparently you have to check bags at least 45 minutes prior to departure, which I didn't know before today. I got to the airport an hour early, but the line was long enough that it was considered "late check" and they wouldn't put it on my flight. They also wouldn't ship me my bag because they said it was my fault for not getting to the airport 2 hours early. They said I had to come pick up the bag at the airport in the next five days. Like I have time for that. So I waited till midnight for the next flight from Chicago to land that had my bag on it. The worst part is I hadn't eaten since breakfast, and there was no place to get dinner. A very nice lady who was closing down a coffee shop saw me, nearly in tears, asking the guy at the info desk if there was anywhere to buy food outside of security in the whole airport. The answer was no, but the coffee shop lady gave me a couple of muffins for free since she'd already closed her till. Finally, I had to take a cab home because the trains had stopped running by the time I finally got my bag. But I'm home now, with all my luggage, and a chocolate muffin in my belly.
And I think I'm going to go to sleep so I can wake up in time to eat some real food before class tomorrow.
